Why hello there....Good afternoon :)
Until now, ruffles have been sitting at the back of a designer's studio unnoticed. However, ruffles are now entering the fashion scene boldly, beginning with the beautiful wedding dresses of Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta.

That is lucky for those soon to be brides, but what about the rest of us, who simply want to shine at an upcoming party or event? Ruffles are perfect, especially when they cross paths with that sumptuous silk... Whether you opt for ruffled asymmetrical fabrics at the hem, or subtle pleated details that adorn the seams, that are not so bold and eyecatching, ruffles have their benefits when worn properly. What are these you may ask? Read on to find out.
Ruffles, although not always but most times, have a structured shape. The delicate layers of silk, which create a romantic aura about you also lengthen your legs, minimize your hips and instantly draw attention away from any body parts of yours that
you do not always adore. Asymmetrical ruffles create more curves to your figure, adding instant point of femininity and class to your outfit. To pull of the look, make sure that your dress or top fits you perfectly. However, if you want to look more slender, always opt for narrower ruffles as they are also more flattering to your figure.
In my opinion, ruffles are a lovely way to spice up a simple top or dress. However, I would advice you to start off with this new trend by picking garments that have specific ruffled details here and there. If you are a little intimidated about trying out this new trend, why not buy a garment with rouched or folded fabric which is less bold and more subtle.
I recently bought a teal top with a ruffled neckline from River Island in the sale, so why not check that out. Also, the dress in the picture above is from Lipsy London, (as I've mentioned before, I love that store!) and it is a "Silk Empire Chiffon Ruffle Dress" for around 95 pounds. The Lipsy London website is: http://www.lipsy.co.uk/, and there are many more to choose from.! Enjoy this new trend, and tell me what you think about it :)
